Kimono tissé en fil de chanvre, froissé, imprimé en vert olive, brun et bleu azuré d'un motif hexagonal appelé Kikko 亀甲, motif traditionnel en forme d'écailles de tortue, symbole de longévité au Japon. À l'origine c'est un motif chinois qui est arrivé au Japon pendant la période Heian, très apprécié pour son effet raffiné et sa signification. Le motif était fréquemment utilisé pour les vêtements de cour, et plus tard pour le kimono et l'armure des guerriers. Il est également apparu sur des objets d'art bouddhiste, de la laque et de la ferronnerie.La texture du kimono est relativement sèche et rigide. Il peut être porté (homme ou femme) mais c'est aussi une très belle pièce décorative.

Kimono woven in hemp thread, crinkled, printed in olive green, brown and azure blue with a hexagonal pattern called Kikko 亀甲, a well-known traditional turtle's shell pattern symbol of good fortune in Japan.Originally it is a Chinese pattern that arrived in Japan during the Heian period, highly valued for its refined effect and meaning. The pattern was frequently used for court clothing, and later for the kimono and armor of warriors. It has also appeared on Buddhist art objects, lacquerware and metalwork.The texture of the kimono is relatively dry and stiff. It can be worn (man/woman) but it is also a beautiful decorative piece.
