GINKO ICHI

Eventail appelé Kyo Uchiwa, dessiné et fabriqué à Kyoto. Cet éventail fait partie d'une troisième collection, faite en collaboration avec Yuki Hachiya, artisan fabricant d'éventails Kyo Uchiwa à Kyoto. Une forme de feuille de ginkgo biloba qui envahissent les rues de Kyoto en automne à été agrandie et reproduite sur une grande feuille de papier washi. Après avoir collé la feuille sur la structure en bambou, Hachiya san a découpé minutieusement les bords de l'éventail selon la forme de la feuille de gingko puis a recouvert les pourtours d'une fine bande de washi. Le manche en cyprès japonais (Hinoki) a été teint à l'urushi noire ( laque japonaise ). Les Uchiwas sont vendus avec un support en bois de Magnolia (Hōnoki ), qui permet de le poser sur une étagère mais aussi de l'accrocher au mur.

Fan called Kyo Uchiwa, designed and made in Kyoto. This fan is part of a third collection, made in collaboration with Yuki Hachiya, artisan maker of Kyo Uchiwa fans in Kyoto. A ginkgo biloba leaf shape that invades the streets of Kyoto in autumn has been enlarged and reproduced on a large sheet of washi paper. After gluing the leaf to the bamboo structure, Hachiya san meticulously cut the edges of the fan into the shape of the gingko leaf and then covered the edges with a thin strip of washi. The Japanese cypress (Hinoki) handle has been dyed with black urushi (Japanese lacquer). The Uchiwas are sold with a Magnolia (Hōnoki) wooden stand, which allows it to be placed on a shelf but also to be hung on the wall.
