KAZUMI

Eventail appelé Kyo Uchiwa, forme d'éventails faits à Kyoto. Cet éventail fait partie d'une première édition faite en collaboration avec Yuki Hachiya, artisan fabricant d'éventails à Kyoto. J'ai créé le motif puis l'ai fait imprimer dans l'atelier de risographie (technique créée au Japon dans les années 80) , Hand Saw Press Kyoto, sur du papier washi. Le motif que j'ai conçu a été réalisé à partir d'une photo de sakura (cerisier en fleurs) que j'ai prise au printemps dernier et modifiée jusqu'à ce qu'il ne reste plus qu'un vague souvenir des fleurs. Nous avons imprimé avec 3 couleurs : bleu de Prusse, indigo foncé et or. Le manche est en cyprès japonais (Hinoki). La structure est en bambou et le manche en cyprès japonais (Hinoki) teint à l'encre sumi noire (encre noire japonaise utilisée pour la calligraphie). Les Uchiwas sont livrés dans leur boite blanche avec un support en bois de Magnolia (Hōnoki) ,qui permet de le poser sur une étagère mais aussi au mur.

I created the pattern and then had it printed in the risography workshop (a technique created in Japan in the 1980s), Hand Saw Press Kyoto, on washi paper. The pattern I designed was made from a photo of sakura (cherry blossom tree) that I took last spring and edited until only a faint memory of the blossoms remained. . We printed with 3 colors: Prussian blue, dark indigo and gold. The handle is made of Japanese cypress (Hinoki). The structure is made of bamboo and the handle of Japanese cypress (Hinoki) dyed with black sumi ink (Japanese black ink used for calligraphy). The Uchiwas are delivered in their white box with a Magnolia wood support (Hōnoki), which allows it to be placed on a shelf but also on the wall.
